Hornshole Commemoration Event

In the morning schoolchildren from all the schools will arrive at Hornshole.  Around 50 period soldiers will re-enact the event,  a picnic lunch will be held at Hornshole before the children march back along the closed road to the centre of Hawick. Around 1800 hours, the children will make their way back to the Borders Textile Towerhouse along with residents of Hawick for the main ceremony and the unveiling of the new bronze statue to commemorate the battle and the people who had survived in Hawick post Flodden.
